Getting On With Stuff

DH, Monkey & I went down to my Mother-In-Law’s over the weekend.  We all really enjoy visiting her, even when we are visiting so that DH can see another of his relatives who lives nearby, who is not so well.  I think one of the things I like best is the journey (usually).  We live quite a long way away so the journey is 3-4 hours.  Long car journeys are probably the most talking DH & I do in one go.  At home we are usually so busy, and as we try to time our journeys to co-incide with Monkey having a sleep, we have fewer demands from him.  Which means that DH & I can chat about things/talk about ideas/discuss projects in a far more in depth and less fraught way.  🙂

All-in-all, I’ve come back home a little bit re-invigorated.  Which is nice.  (Although that could be due to having 2 lie-ins-ish in a row.)

I’ve so far used my new-found (and probably short-lived) enthusiasm to finish undercoating one of my charity shop acquisitions (last night).  This afternoon, making the most of Monkey’s nap, I did some kitchen radiator painting, some kitchen wall painting & started putting a first coat of paint on the undercoated bed-side table.  Hurrah!

Then came upstairs for a sit down & ate about a kilo of pretzels.  Doh!
