Getting Around To Things

Bonus points for me!  I just finished a jumper that I started in April last year.  It has been languishing in a box for most of that time, all I had to do was sew on 4 buttons & crochet some button loops.  Well it is now done.

Similarly, this blog post has been pending for a while.  Not for anywhere near as long, but it is a happy coincidence that the above jumper story fits with the rest of the post, and the title.

We live quite close to the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.  Monkey & I regularly walk along it, usually to Saltaire.  Along the way we pass a couple of milestones advising how far to each end of the canal.  I thought what a good idea it would be to walk along the whole canal.  It is usually an easy walk, quite level, and the mile markers mean we can keep an eye on our progress.  A couple of weeks ago we got round to starting.  We had a bit of bother finding the beginning of the canal but that would have been solved easily if I’d printed off a better map.  As it was, some friendly passers-by pointed us in the right direction.  We’ve so far made it to Riddlesden & about 18 miles (out of 127!).  I was going to put some more details in this post but it makes it a bit long so I’ll save it for another…
