Leeds-Liverpool Canal Walk (Leeds to Riddlesden)

These days are not consecutive, just sequential.

Day 1 & 2 – Canal Wharf, Leeds to Kirkstall.

The first day we didn’t get too far – about 2.5k. The second day we did the first bit again – there had been a problem with the camera so we couldn’t take a picture of all the markers we passed. The other difference the 2nd day was that DH came with us for part of it – dropping us off at the start, driving to the end & walking back to meet us.

Day 3 & 4 – Kirkstall to Apperley Bridge

We did 5k on day 3 & 7k on day 4. Parts of this we’d done before which probably helped.

Day 5 & 6 – Apperley Bridge to Saltaire

Day 5 we stopped early on at Toby’s Tea Rooms for an early lunch. Really good soup!  Day 6 we continued on to Saltaire.  We’ve walked both bits before & that probably helps make them my two favourite walks so far, although seeing a kingfisher might have contributed to my good opinion 🙂

Day 7 & 8 – Saltaire to Riddlesden

Monkey wasn’t really in a walking zone for these two days.  We just about managed to make it to the planned walk-end both times but we’d more whinging than previously.  I might have to rethink my strategy of cobbled-together maps & get an official one, for ease of shortening or lengthening walks.

DH is away today but we might go back to 5-rise locks instead of pushing on towards Skipton as there is a family day planned there I think.
