Recovered (And More Canal Walk)

Monkey has well & truly recovered from his chicken pox now.  We thought at one point he’d got a second spate of it but it turned out to be insect bites for real this time.  I must admit that for some reason I never thought you could get a chicken pock in your belly button.  YACK makes my tummy itchy just thinking about it, but he seemed ok with it.

We managed to get out & do a walk despite his pox (& a cold which also followed on straight afterwards), but it was just in to Saltaire.  We did another bit of canal last week though 🙂

Canal Walk Day 10 – Silsden to Skipton

We planned to do Silsden to Low Bradley, then DH could come & pick us up, so Monkey & I got the train out to Steeton & Silsden station then the bus up to the canal.  Much easier than trying to find a safe place to cross the A-road.  The walk was quiet & pleasant.  Many of the markers are missing now, and the ones still there are without numbers.  We still took a picture though, if it looked like it should be one.  We were making good progress so we decided to continue on to Skipton (so we could get the train home).  We also had the pleasant surprise of a good-condition mile marker, not far out of Skipton.  It was so fabulous, we sat down & had a snack.  By the time we got in to Skipton we were ready for a rest, as we did about 11.5k.  Nearly 1/4 of the way there, next stop Gargrave…
